Become a "Guardian de los Gatos"

Throughout Santa Fe, there are compassionate individuals quietly making a difference by caring for community (feral) cats. If you feel called to join this effort, Los Gatos del Barrio welcomes you to become a Guardian de los Gatos—a dedicated caretaker who provides food, shelter, and kindness to cats living outdoors.

As part of our mission, Los Gatos del Barrio strives to provide food and outdoor shelters to community cat caregivers—as our resources allow. These supplies are intended to help ease the financial burden that many caretakers take on themselves, often without recognition or support. Some of the shelters we distribute are handmade, while others are purchased—each one a small but vital step toward protecting cats from the elements.

While we’ve reached out to local businesses and organizations in hopes of building partnerships, we’re still in the early stages of growing that support network. At this time, Los Gatos del Barrio continues to operate without formal partnerships—but not without heart. Thanks to the unwavering dedication of volunteers and the generosity of individual donors, we’ve been able to keep moving forward. Every step we take is a testament to the power of community and the belief that even small efforts can make a meaningful difference.
